Homecoming Sunday

Hello Trinity family!

Homecoming Sunday is upon us! Come this Sunday for the start of church school, meet our new intern Patty, receive healing prayer, and have a wonderful coffee hour! We have so many fun and joy filled events planned this year, too, so come ready to sign up to help spread the love of God in the world.

Blessings,

Rev. Kate

Gospel: Luke 14:25-33

Now large crowds were traveling with Jesus; and he turned and said to them, "Whoever comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and even life itself, cannot be my disciple. Whoever does not carry the cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it will begin to ridicule him, saying, `This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.' Or what king, going out to wage war against another king, will not sit down first and consider whether he is able with ten thousand to oppose the one who comes against him with twenty thousand? If he cannot, then, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for the terms of peace. So therefore, none of you can become my disciple if you do not give up all your possessions."

❧ WORSHIP

Homecoming Sunday & Church School Kickoff!

Join us for Homecoming Sunday on This Sunday Sept. 7th as we celebrate the start of a new season in the life of our church! It’s a special time to reconnect, worship together, and launch our Church School year.

Healing Prayers First Sunday of the Month- Healing prayer is when anointing oil and hands are put upon someone and individual prayers are said for that person for their needs. This will happen in the chapel after worship. Please note that you do not have to take part in healing prayer. It is something that we are offering for those that would like it.

❧ PARISH LIFE

Welcome our new Intern, Patty Dhar!  Please come and greet our new Intern! Patty is coming to us as a postulant in the process towards becoming a priest. She is going to be with us for the program year, worshiping with us, preaching, pastoral care, and more. Come say hello!

Bible Study has resumed for the Fall!  See you at 10am in the Library!

❧ OUTREACH

Adding to the Offertory - Our pantries outside the church are being used so much that we are running out of supplies constantly. We are going to be trying something new to help with this and to add to our worship. When you come to church each Sunday, please bring a non-perishable food item or personal care product and put it in the basket in the narthex. We will bring the goods up with the offertory and have them blessed during the service. Afterwards, we will bring it out to the pantries. This is going to be going on for the foreseeable future so make it a part of your Sunday routine!

THIS Friday, September 5th  from 8-12 noon we will hold our First Friday Food Drive.  Drive through, drop your donations and get a blessing!  Please help those in need.  Thank you!
